Eureka! Cimarron 15-Degree Mummy Sleeping Bag

From Eureka Sleeping Bags

Rated to 30 degrees Fahrenheit, the regular-sized Eureka Copper River mummy-style sleeping bag features a bag-within-a-bag design, which keeps cold air from the outside from getting through and warm air on the inside of the bag from escaping. The trapezoidal foot section is angled to allow for the foot's natural sleeping position. It has a fully adjustable contoured hood. Other features include a two-way, self-repairing zipper, inside stash pocket, fleece pillow pocket, zipper thermometer and compression stuff sack. This sleeping bag is filled with Eureka's proprietary 7-hole slickened, polyester Thermashield fiber fill, which provides maximum insulation at the best value possible. Each of these holes traps air inside it's passageway creating dead air space that efficiently retains heat to keep you warm.

Wow!

Shipping of my Lodge 6 qt was delayed and I was

really getting antsy. The minute it finally arrived

I quickly thawed a pound of lean beef and whipped up

some Picadillo (Mexican ground beef dish suitable for

stuffing tacos as well).

I was blown away by the flavor. I've cooked a lot of

years, but I never realized that cookware can actually

make such an enormous difference. Used the same recipe

I've made for years, but the flavor was improved 2 or

3 times (really).

I was also surprised at how quickly it heated up over

just medium fire (they warn you not to cook any higher

than that, and now I understand why -- you don't need

to). I waited as advised for it to cool down before

washing and it cleanup up quickly with no effort.

Sign me,

Blown Away

Jim

LOVELY!

I was looking for a reasonably priced enameled dutch oven and I found it here! While $55 was not the best deal, it was within my price range. Amazon prices can be high at times, just put it in your "cart" and check on it every day. I watched the price come down each day for about 5 days before I jumped on it. The next day it had gone DOWN to $44. Oh well. I bring up the price because the same Lodge Dutch Ovens are sold at my local Wal-Mart for $45. The store did not have the full color range Amazon does, but they are the same thing!

Now, the reason I chose this one was the COLOR! This green is every bit as beautiful as the picture suggests. I am very satisfied with the aesthetics of it. The only drawback I can come up with is that the knob on the lid is only oven safe to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. This can be unscrewed and replaced with a cast iron knob to work in higher temps. I have cooked with this dish and it performed beautifully. I am very satisfied with this purchase and I am considering ordering other coordinating pieces.

Beautiful Pot, Endless Uses

I love my Lodge Enamel Dutch Ovens, I have the 6 quart and the 3 quart. The 6 quart is the perfect size for families. I had a 5 quart pot and it wasn't quite big enough for us when we made big pots of chili, etc. One more quart in size doesn't sound like a lot but it is. You can fix a full 5 quarts of food and still have plenty of room to stir and simmer.

I love the enamel on cast. The enamel makes for a more versatile pot than regular cast. You can cook acidic foods in the enamel that can hurt the finish on your regular cast. You can also store in the enamel pot. When you are finished, just stick the pot in the refrigerator.

Cleanup is easy. Just wash out with soap and water. For stubborn stains, just add a little bleach with water and let soak. For stubborn stuck on foods, just boil some water with baking soda and it should loosen up. Scrub with a nylon scrubbie.

The green is a beautiful color but you can choose from several colors in the Lodge line to compliment your kitchen. Cast is so good for even cooking and heat rentention. It's a great addition to your kitchen and one you will treasure for years to come.

Customer Reviews

I've Seen The Light

Summary: This backpack is AWESOME! I wish I bought a few of them before the price went up.

I bought this backpack specifically to use on the back of my Sun USX trike because the piping is illuminated (I really want to be seen when I'm cycling) and I also needed a backpack that could carry a lot of stuff (I don't travel light). After checking this backpack out, it not only is in use when I cycle, I take it everywhere I go.

Pros: Illuminated piping that can "blink" or steady light, 2 large zippered compartments with ample dividers and pockets including padded protection for a lap top, 2 smaller side pockets with ample dividers and spacers to carry all your smaller electronic gear, comfortable shoulder strap even has a pocket for my cell phone, and a front pocket that houses the "electronics" for the illuminated piping with ample room for lots of spare batteries.

Cons: Ships without the 2 AAA batteries needed to illuminate the piping... come on SWISS GEAR how cheap can you get... and you really have to look to find the battery holder and switch as the instructions play down this feature.

Life saver

I took this little fan on RAGBRAI, a 471-mile, 7-day bike ride across the state of Iowa. It is hot and muggy in Iowa in July, and I knew I would need ventilation in my tiny tent at night in order to sleep well. It worked perfect - I situated it so the fan blew across my upper body, and it was just enough to keep me cool and the "white" noise of it was quiet but very calming. It doesn't take up much room in bag, and in a summer camping situation where electricity is not available, I would never go without it. So glad I found it while surfing around Amazon.

Great Coleman product

We bought this tent as an upgrade from our smaller Coleman. Sets up with ease and I had it done in about 1/2 hour by myself. We used it for 4 days without incident. On our last night it poured and in the morning we found a little water on the floor. Enought to wet a tea towel but not enough to wring out.I am not sure I like the screened roof because the heat just blows right out. I found that it I throw somethnig over top the tent to weight down the fly then the heat holds much better. I will be using this tent well into December. We used one side for sleeping and the other for our gear, its great to have this much room while camping.

excellent tent - highly recommended by this chiropractor! (and my guy Mike)

My guy Mike has a back problem, which led us to consider this cabin-door style tent, so that Mike wouldn't need to stoop-n-crawl entering and exiting the tent. On that score alone, this tent would get 2 thumbs up from both me and Mike -- the cabin door makes tent camping so easy, allowing us to stand fully upright while taking gear (and us) in and out of the tent, it is absolutely great. And I've done a LOT of camping over the years, so I'm speaking from a lifetime of experience with various tents -- the design of this tent is perfect - the cabin door, the separate "front room" with enough space to set up a small table and chairs, and the fullscreened ceiling panels (during the day, roll back the rainfly, open the ample screened windows and doors, and the tent is airy and comfortable enough to spend the entire day in). And I love the innovative pole clips that let us easily setup the tent and take it down (with Mike's bad back, we're careful that he doesn't twist or stoop over needlessly, and it's very easy for me to singlehandedly manage the tent setup and takedown myself, especially if Mike's back is bothering him). I absolutely love this tent, I give it 5 stars, two thumbs up, and kudos to the maker - thanks, this is a perfect tent for us!

Thanks all for all your reviews

Thanks all for all your reviews. I just bought this tent because you in the past you have rated it and sent your reviews in for the past three years. Amazon did not allow me to give it a rating other than 5 before I posted it. So Five it is, before I have received it. I have noticed this kind of tent other than dome tents will not withstand any wind force and water will come in at 30mph or less. I couldn't expect more from any other tent for the price I am paying. I did buy this tent on the warnings it is not a 3 or 4 season tent and Amazon gave me plenty information to let me know what I was buying. I did look at your many comments about the SpringBar tent and WOW plan to spend 3 times as much. I am only going to use this tent 6 weeks a year and the price is right. I have owned two dome style tents in the past (there is no room to move other than the middle) and the rain has been a major problem and if you touch the seems watch out it will pore in. I hope Coleman has learned they have designed quite a tent and will make it better. Dome tents really do not provide the space needed for four to six plus suit cases and equipment every one likes lots of room in their tent. People want a little home away from home. There is a price to pay on wind and rain to get out of a dome tent.

Thanks RD Varin

Great Carrier

First the positive...

I've never backpacked before; but I do carry my 9mos old daughter everywhere I go. The standard back and chest carriers that rest on the shoulders just hurt too much. This framed carrier is great and very comfortable. The back padding to excellent and waist belt can pulled extremely tight and also very comfortable with plenty of padding. I've hiked several trips now carrying my 20lb daughter, camera, 1/2gal water, and snacks (sum = ~30lbs) for appox. 1-2hrs at a time. The pack/carrier stayed in place and secure the entire time. The frame does a good job transferring all that weight to the hips.

The kickstand is great to temporarily relieve the weight. My baby can sleep comfortably while we hike for hours without straining her neck. The under seat space is more than plenty for mom, dad and the babies supplies for a day hike. Very light weight carrier.

Then the criticism...

The buckles are too difficult to tighten and too easy to loosen. But they stay where they put during a trip.

The under seat storage compartment has a partition that is annoying, it just makes it easier to lose small cell phones etc behind the partition flap.

A must have for parents on the go!

My husband and I both love our Kelty FC 1.0. We use it all the time to go for walks through cities, on the beach, hiking, etc. It is lightweight and comfortable to wear if you adjust it properly. My son (10 months) is also a huge fan. He loves being high up and involved in what is going on. We always get a lot of comments and questions about it, which gives me the impression that these carriers are a best kept secret. I encourage all parents of an infant (I would recommend 6 months or older) or toddler to invest in one of these for your days out. I still use my stroller for shopping, but this is much better for days out with family.

Lodge Logic Pre-Seasoned 15 Inch Cast-Iron Skillet

Lodge Logic Pre-Seasoned 15 Inch Cast-Iron Skillet

Lodge Logic Pre-Seasoned 15 Inch Cast-Iron Skillet

From Lodge Cookware

When feeding the whole family, you ll need this preseasoned skillet measuring 15-1/4 inches in diameter, with a 2-1/4 inch depth. Our seasoned cast iron cookware is pre-seasoned from the factory by a industrial strength gas oven. This kind of quality will last for generations.

Features

  • Versatile 15 inch deep cast-iron skillet for large cooking tasks

  • Preseasoned with vegetable oil formula and ready for immediate use

  • Cast-iron construction heats slowly and evenly

  • Includes looped cast-iron side handle and opposite helper handle; hand wash only

  • Measures 2-1/4 inches deep; lifetime warranty

Lodge cast-iron cookware has long been admired for its superior heat retention and even heat distribution, but now the company adds another enticement with its Lodge Logic line. All Lodge Logic cookware, including this generously sized 15-1/4-inch skillet, comes preseasoned via a proprietary "electrostatic" vegetable oil spray system and is ready for cooking right out of the box--unlike traditional Lodge cookware, which needs seasoning in your home oven before use. During the timesaving preseasoning process, oil penetrates deeply into the cast-iron surface while a high-temperature gas oven seals it in, preserving the cookware for generations and creating an attractive heirloom finish.

The skillet measures 15-1/4 inches in diameter and 2-1/4 inches deep--an ideal size for large tasks such as cooking a stack of pancakes or making a family portion of scrambled eggs. The vessel is also suited for roasting vegetables, searing steaks, or making quesadillas, as its cast-iron material delivers a smooth, consistent temperature without wasting heat. The pan's esteemed heat retention particularly enhances slow-cooking recipes that call for tender meats and rich, seasoned flavors. Chefs will also appreciate the durable handle with a loop on the end for hanging, along with the opposite helper handle that aids in transport--a necessity when cooking with heavy cast iron. And finally, the skillet includes a couple of side indentations that facilitate smoother pouring. Lodge recommends hand washing the pan with a stiff brush and hot water for best results. The skillet also comes with a lifetime warranty.

Customer Reviews

great quality cast iron skillet

Lodge makes the BEST quality cast iron cookware. I own several other brands of cast iron and this is the skillet I use the most. I would buy this item again, I give it a AAA+++.

Fantastic Skillet, but....

note that this skillet is not made for the average sized stove--it's simply too big to get even heat distribution. It's perfect for use in the oven or the grill. Clean-up is easy with a stiff brush and hot water, just add a light layer of oil afterwards to keep rust away.

Also, this skillet is quite heavy, so be careful--especially when it's superhot and full of food. Fortunately there's a grip on the opposite side of the handle for more stability.

Overall it's a great skillet and if taken care of correctly, it'll last a lifetime.

Lodge Logic Pre-Seasoned 5-Quart Dutch Oven with Loop Handles

Lodge Logic Pre-Seasoned 5-Quart Dutch Oven with Loop Handles

Lodge Logic Pre-Seasoned 5-Quart Dutch Oven with Loop Handles

From Lodge Cookware

5 QT, Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Dutch Oven With Eared Loop Side Handles.

Features

  • 5-quart Dutch oven with cast-iron lid ideal for slow-cooking foods

  • Rugged cast-iron construction heats slowly and evenly

  • Pre-seasoned with vegetable oil formula and ready for immediate use

  • Self-basting domed lid preserves moisture; loop handles aid in carrying

  • Measures 10-1/4 inches in diameter and 4 inches deep; lifetime warranty

The American-based company Lodge has been fine-tuning its construction of rugged, cast-iron cookware for more than a century. No other metal is as long-lasting and works as well for spreading and retaining heat evenly during cooking. Lodge's Logic line of cookware comes factory pre-seasoned with the company's vegetable oil formula, and is ready to use right out of the box.

At 10-1/4 inches in diameter and 4 inches deep, this 5-quart Dutch oven holds a heap of chili, chicken and rice, or fruit cobbler. This model is not the campfire style, with legs, wire handle, and a lid for coals. This one is flat-bottomed to sit on a stovetop burner or in the oven, with a domed lid that sends moisture back into the pot. Loop handles aid in carrying with oven mitts. While the Dutch oven comes pre-seasoned to prevent food from sticking, it works best when sprayed or lightly coated with vegetable oil before use. After the meal is done, simply scrub the cast iron with a stiff brush and hot water, no soap, and dry immediately. Lodge covers the sturdy oven with a lifetime limited warranty against defects, and when cared for properly, this virtually indestructible pan should last for generations. --Ann Bieri

Fantastic Pot

This 3 quart chicken fryer is the addition I was wanting for my cookware. My larger dutch oven is great for larger uses, but this one is great for things that accomodate my husband and I. I roasted, at 325 degrees, yellow squash, cut into chunks, today and it was fantastic.

I cannot praise Lodge cast iron enough for the quality in their products. My next and 4th purchase will be the 10 1/4" skillet. I already have the 13 1/4" skillet and it is fantastic for pancakes and anything that requires large cooking surface.

And for you people with ceramic stove tops....NO Problem.... I have done without my cast iron pots since Hurricane Katrina and when replaced all, I got ceramic stovetop. Thought I would not be able to use the iron...but I was missing cooking in my iron pots so much that I took the plunge....NOT A PROBLEM. Just be careful not to slide around and scratch the stovetop...and for goodness sakes don't drop this heavy stuff on it either.

If you want perfect bacon, just fry in the cast iron...cannot be beat.....really for anything you want to cook.

Thank you Amazon.com for offering these items at such a reasonable cost....

Great!

Not only is this great as Dutch ovens go it's good enough that I've expanded my use of the Dutch oven! Five qts is a good size. It's not so large you are going to confuse it with a stock pot, but it's more than large enough for everything I've wanted to use it for.

It's heavy enough construction to really hold heat but not so absurdly heavy that it's hard to handle.

The MSRP on these makes them one of the best values in the kitchen; the price on Amazon makes it a real steal. No kitchen should be without one.

From MagLite Flashlight

Features

  • High intensity adjustable light beam

  • Sealed O-rings for water and shock resistance

  • Precision-machined, high strength aluminum alloy case

  • Spare lamp in the tail cap

  • Limited lifetime warranty

Here's a nice little light in a tough little package. It's perfect for quick, occasional use, say, to shed some light on a dark keyhole. The built-in key lanyard is long enough to let you use your key and the beam at the same time, and the beam width adjust with an easy turn from spotlight to flood. It's compact enough for a pocket and tough enough to tumble around in a briefcase, backpack or handbag—-it's corrosion-resistant, too. We especially like the extra bulb packed right in the end compartment, so you won't get caught without a light. Granted, the beam could be beefier, but for its purpose, it's a great little flashlight.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste

Customer Reviews

It is a Great Mini Flashlight...a Classic

This is a remarkable flashlight. Well constructed in every detail. Very handy. You can even hang it with your keychain with the included strap and keyring. It is very light in aluminum construction. Shockproof and water resistant. The light is pretty respectable for its size. You can adjust the spread of the beam by twisting the head, which is also its on and off switch. It uses a single "AAA" battery. Available in many attractive candy colors. It even includes a spare lamp inside the tail cap (under the spring).

I have bought a number of these for years as gifts.

Recommendation: This has been a classic mini flashlight for years. But with the advent of newer high output LEDs lamps, it is best to check out the LED flashlights for comparisons.

What's not to like?

I got this flashlight to go in my Leatherman Wave nylon case, and mostly to be used when I need to look into a computer. It fits perfectly in my case, and lights up a computer's insides perfectly.

While it's not the best flashlight I have for larger areas, that's not at all what I have it for (I usually use a 3 cell Mag Lite or one of those giant, 2 million candlepower spotlights for that), and it does do a good job for a light of that size.

The Mag Lite Solitaire is perfect for what it's made for.

Great carrier!

We really are very happy with our purchase. Our 26lb 2 year old daughter loves riding in this carrier and is very comfortable in it. Both my husband and I find this carrier to be easy to use as well as fully adjustable to fit both of us comfortably. I would fully recommend this product.

Fun for the baby, tiresome for the parents

My 12 months baby girl refused to sit in the stroller. It was too boring for her. When she grows too big for the baby bijon, we bought this to take her to the town. She LOVES it. Even though it is tiring to carry her with this, my husband loves it too. When he sees or hears how happy my daughter is, all the tireness changes to joy. I sometimes carry her with this to the backyard too. She just LOVES this.

Customer Reviews

Good value, but not quite 5-star

SUMMARY

Meets expectations. Easy to attach to tent and will not move once attached. However, the light is not very bright and is best used as a secondary light in a larger tent. It may be okay in a 1-2 person tent, but in a family sized tent, you will need additional light if you are going to be reading, playing games, etc. Overall, a good value for the price, but not quite a 5 star product.

PLUSES

Easily attachable to the tent. The magnet is very strong and once you have the light positioned where you want it, it is not going to go anywhere.

Lightweight and compact. Its' small size means that you can shove it in the tent bag so it is there when you set up camp.

DELTAS

The light is not very bright. Guessing that it is approximately the brightness of a 40-60 watt bulb.

What a great invention!

I just love clever camping gadgets! This inexpensive light worked great in our tent. We put in right inside the tent door and found it to be very conventient. Easy enough for the kids to use.

Great tent lite

This tent light worked great. Very easy to use and gave off just enough light to light up my tent.

Light wear you need to use both Hands

I have used the Streamlight Trident Super-Bright Head Lamp to walk my two large black dogs at night. It provides light where I could not hold a flash light. It was also useful to focus light in small areas when I was building my home theater computer. The light can be tilted down and is easy to adjust and wear.

Streamlight Success

I am an avid night-time snowshoer. I had this old head lamp that served its purpose in providing light, but the small joint that held the lamp at certain angles for use soon lost its taught properties. I had to walk holding the light facing forward or else it would shine straight in my eyes.

While debating whether or not to use duct tape, I simply decided to try out different head lamps and to be sure that I avoided the problem I had previously. I went through two more head lamps before I found the Streamlight. Not only did the three light settings serve me better in the dark, but I finally found a head lamp that doesn't bounce when I walk. The Streamlight clicks into the angle you would like and stays there. No more holding my headlamp as I'm gallivanting through the dark!

The three LED lights combined with the bright spotlight meet all the needs of the night-time snowshoer. The single top strap is also one of the features of the Streamlight that I really enjoy because it holds more of the weight of the head lamp so there is less slippage when I decide to run or be acrobatic. There is also a comfortable forehead pad that makes wearing the Streamlight without a hat more convenient. The on/off button is easy to find, and it only takes 3 AAA batteries.

I have been extremely pleased with this product and its simple yet user-friendly features. It is also great for campers, mechanics and under-the-cover readers.

Great present for my brother

I bought one each for my two brothers. They were the guinea pigs - now I can buy myself one. It lights up very bright with three different settings. My one brother owns an orchard and travels overseas and doesn't know why he bothered getting along without one of these. It extends the length of his day. I have used it in my attic - and with vaulted ceilings - it is very useful.

Great pack

This is a great backpack carrier. It is safe, easy to use, and comfortable for the parent and the baby. Our son loves to go in it. He prefers this to the front pack carrier. It's great for both short and long hikes. Our only complaint is the hood does not provide adequate protection against the sun from the sides. It protects great from overhead sun, but otherwise you have to add sun protection on the sides. But I have not seen any of the packs that have this protection. Otherwise I would highly recommend it.

Great Product!

I bought this for my husband for Fathers Day and this works out wonderful for our 7 mos old!! He loves being up high with his daddy! Very easy to use. Security straps are all in the right places and our lil one is very secure!

Color: blue.

Good Light and Keychain

I bought a number of these to give as gifts when I went to Uzbekistan. Everyone that received one was very grateful for them. They come in handy when you least expect it. I paid $5 each. Wait for them to go on sale again. I care one of these as my keychain.

Review on Zermatt

This daypack serves its purpose. I haven't had a problem with the zippers and i've used this quite frequent with loads of books. The straps aren't too bulky so it would fit a female and a male. This is worth the +/- 30 bucks you spend.

Not very comfortable shoulder straps

I like Wegner Swiss Gear notebook backpacks but this bag's shoulder straps are not comfortable. I like everything else, especially cellphone attachment. I agree with previous reviewer, the zips are not as good as notebook backpacks' but still working for me (with my extra care :). I don't use this bag for daily use and recommend to add more $ and get either Maxxum Swiss Gear by Wenger Notebook Backpack Blue or RIVAL from SwissGear by Wenger Computer Backpack, both often were on sales.

Lodge Logic 7-Quart Dutch Oven with Spiral Handle Bail and Iron Cover

Excellent product. Good quality and well seasoned. I use it as often as I can.

Lodge Logic 7 Quart Dutch Oven

While watching an episode of "America's Test Kitchen", they demonstrated how to deep fry food the best way and using a cast iron dutch oven was highly recommended. When shopping for one online, I wanted to buy the best cast iron dutch oven so that I will never have to replace it and the Lodge products were rated the best. It retains the high heat needed to deep fry and does such a great job at deep frying anything from fish to onion rings. It's much more economical and reliable than an electric deep fryer. As with all cast iron products, this dutch oven doesn't have to be washed and that makes clean up so much easier. You just have to drain all of the oil out of the dutch oven and insert a folded paper towel in between the dutch oven and the lid to keep it aired out properly. This is the first cast iron product I have ever bought or owned and I absolutely love it!

Customer Reviews

A Great Carrier for wearer and child

We wanted to get a nice backpack carrier to carry our 21-month old daughter for our upcoming trip to Montana. We were doing lots of hiking around Glacier National Park, but we also wanted it for walks around the neighborhood. We narrowed it down to the Sherpani Rumba and the Kelty FC 3.0, and bought both so we could try them out (then return the one we didn't like). I really wanted to like the Sherpani, but it was just not as comfortable as the Kelty. No matter how much adjusting I did, both my husband and I always had aching shoulders after not even an hour walk. Also, our daughter was able to wiggle halfway out of it, then would cry because she would get stuck halfway. She was just not comfortable in that pack, and would even try to avoid being put in it. Not so with the Kelty! It fits like a dream, both for the wearer and the child! Our daughter literally begs to get in it. We had some very long hikes, and she was always happy as a clam in the pack. We even wore her around the airport. She would be sitting in the airplane for hours, be tired and cranky, yet still got excited about climbing back into the Kelty carrier when we got off the plane. When adjusted correctly, you never feel the weight in your shoulders. I even walked around town for a few hours with my (at the time) 18-month old daughter in it when I was 4 months pregnant, and I didn't feel it at all until I got home. Then, I felt like I just did a 2-hour step workout, but still no shoulder pain (my legs sure did feel that I was walking around with an extra 20-30 lbs, though!).

After using this pack a lot around town (and even around the house while making dinner and such), and taking it across the country for hiking, I still absolutely love it. The storage space is more than enough for your daily needs, and, because the small backpack unzips from the back, I was even able to leave my diaper bag at home and just use the small Kelty backpack. In the small pack, I usually brought fit diapers, wipes, changing pad, lots of snacks, plus personal items like wallet, sunglasses, sunscreen, bug spray, antibacterial gel, etc. Then in the bottom part we would fit lunch for 5, plus sweaters for the baby, hats, a large digital camera, and maybe a few other odds and ends.

The ONLY complaint I have is that the load lifters are accessible to the child, and they can easily pull up on the buckle and release them (quite a shock when you're hiking and all of a sudden you feel all the weight on your shoulders). Our daughter usually can't get to them when the sunshield is on, but when it's off, she always plays with them. Besides that, it is the perfect pack. Our daughter fell asleep in it 3 times while hiking, and she is NOT one of those kids who just falls asleep wherever. I think that says a lot about the comfort of this pack. It is worth every penny.

Mag Lite Mini AA Holster Pack

Mag Lite Mini AA Holster Pack

Mag Lite Mini AA Holster Pack

From MagLite Flashlight

If we may be so bold, this is the flashlight that changed the industry forever. Batteries included.

Customer Reviews

Great grift idea.

I gave this as a gift to a friend. He is happy and so am I.

Best Little Flashlight in the World

I have several of these Mini MagLites. They're solid, well-made, great little flashlights, with extra features: beam focusing (just twist the head), spare bulb holder (inside the rear cap), and a candle mode (take the head off and it becomes a base for the barrel).

I've only had one fail, and that was my fault (I didn't check the batteries in one that was kept in a drawer and an expired battery leaked).

Why do I own several of these? Well, you've got to have one in each color, right? Seriously...

I keep one in the center console of my car. It's great for old eyes looking at a map or directions at night, when the dome light just isn't quite enough. It's also a help for a quick look under the hood, in the trunk, or under the seat. Of course, I keep a regular Mag-Lite in the trunk, too.

I keep one in my office desk in case of a power outage, or when the timed lights go off in the evening, or for digging around in the computer or copier.

I keep one by my home computer for those times when you have to go poking around inside.

I keep one in the headboard of my bed, again in case of a power outage. I learned my lesson in the 1994 Northridge earthquake; it was still dark and the power was out, and various and sundry things had fallen on the floor -- it's no fun walking around in the dark with bare feet when there's lots of stuff scattered about.

There are a couple of others (kitchen and garage), just to have around.

Just remember to check the batteries every few months, and when the bulb burns out and you use the spare in the rear cap, replace it before you forget (Mag Instrument LM2A001 Replacement Lamp for AA Mini MagLite, 2-Pack)!

Perfect, but not LED. Yet.

To start, I'm a tradesmen who has to carry his lifelines on his belt. Not only on the job, but I'm also the unnofficial handyman of this apartment complex. Every time I even move to take my workbelt off, it seems to be a signal for a neighbor to bang on the wall saying something is on fire or won't open all the way. And the Mini Mag is the universal flashlight. It's sold everywhere, including this fine site and even family stores, and despite its legendary quality and design, is at the most ten dollars with included holster. I prefer the classic AA design, where CAN'T you find AAs? I've used one of these on my belt for about four years. It's an excellent tool, and I've never had one wear out on me. The bulbs, however, are the Achilles heel. The rest of the flashlight is military, police and trade quality, for civilian price. But these dang bulbs go orange after a couple weeks and last a couple months of casual use. I was considering shelling out forty bucks for a small LED, just to save the money on bulbs.

Then, walking through a sports outlet, I passed the flashlight section. And next to the usual Mini Mag with holster, which I own close to six of, was a Nite Ize accessory designed for this same flashlight. An LED bulb. Now, I've seen these online for about twenty to thirty bucks, and this is a ten dollar flashlight! But this one just sitting around on a shelf was eight bucks, about a buck less than the flashlight's shelf price. What the heck, I got one. To quote another review, my trusty old Mag is now a state-of-the-art torch, with nearly triple battery life of the old bulb. And LEDs, as all Mag-haters know, don't burn out or even go out when bumped.

So, for a total of twenty bucks, you get an American-quality LED beam that competes and plain out whips fifty-dollar imports with plastic casings. I wouldn't recomend this flashlight if there wasn't there was a way to fix its biggest flaw. Just get your hands on this LED adapter, and put it in like you would the standard bulb. Replace the mirror reflector, and stomp the old bulbs into powder. You won't be needing them, ever again. There's also a combo pack availiable, for the same price, that includes a push-button adapter if you've ever wished you could tap a red button on the end instead of twisting it on and off. I haven't tried it, but it comes with the LED, and for eight bucks?

And hey, the flashlight itself comes in six different colors. These things are easily replaced if one gets banged up or your room-mate/girlfriend draws all over it with Sharpie while she's on the phone. I've had these work perfectly even they have been through Hades and back, but some prefer a more formal-looking flashlight. Just take the LED out and put it in the new one, those bulbs last forever. And now, so will this flashlight.

Better than it looks.

It looks flimsy, but it did a great job. It has soft fins and completely safe, you can't hurt yourself. It does a great job at moving the air around a stuffy tent.

Fan is Great in a pinch

I own two of these Fans that we use in our 21 ft. Travel trailer we place as to create a cross wind in our trailer when we are camping with no hook ups and / or do not want to waste our Power on the A/C. It is defanitly a two fan job if needed for a large area. one would be good for a small tent.

weak and noisy

This fan produces a gentle breeze that can cool off a small tent on a hot night. And it will run all night at low power on a set of D cells. But after just a few uses it has become very noisy. It still seems to work OK if you can stand the racket.
